Tomb Raider Chronicles - ANGELINA JOLIE IS APPLAUDED BY SINGER

Tomb Raider Chronicles - ANGELINA JOLIE IS APPLAUDED BY SINGER: "Alicia Keys has praised Lara Croft Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie for her part in raising awareness of the plight of millions of refugees across Africa following her widely publicised adoption of an Ethiopian girl in 2005. The singer has slammed criticism of both Madonna and Jolie during a recent press interview.

According to Alicia: 'I think it's horrible, and I think it really degrades and tries to discourage people who do have a voice, who do have power, who do have money, who have the ability to reach out to people and get involved in situations. I think if you make a choice to do something positive, that shouldn't be diminished. I think that takes away from what's actually going on.'

In November Keys hosted a concert in New York with supermodel Iman for Keep a Child Alive, a charity that provides drugs for people living with HIV/Aids in Africa, reports The Voice."

The Mirror writes: 'Right now she will be feeling hurt and isolated. Never mind if they are 'best friends', she is unlikely to be getting midnight cuddles from Vince. One reason we love Jen is she is like us - a regular girl looking for Mr Right. She should use the Christmas break for a complete re-evaluation.' "

Britney No Match for Kournikova

Britney No Match for Kournikova: "Poor Britney. It seems there's not much interest among users for viewing pictures of her. Antivirus vendors have rated this virus a low risk, unlike the heavy hitting Anna Kournikova virus (aka VBSWG and VBS.SST) which infected thousands of users within hours of discovery. That virus also masqueraded as pictures and during its initial spread, infected more rapdily than had the LoveLetter virus which was one of the most widespread threats to affect users.

The hapless Britney virus spreads via email, typically as Britney.chm. The email has the subject line 'Re: Britney Pics' and message text that reads 'Take a look at these pics ...'"

Minor apologies about no posts earlier this week, but I have magazine work bearing down on my head. While many tennis folks are getting some R&R (did you see that nutty Maria Sharapova riding high on a rope through the Costa Rican jungle?), Inside Tennis magazine produces its two biggest issues of the year at the end of December. There's simply no rest for the weary in these quarters as after we finally put the issues to bed, I'm off to the Aussie Open.

But a few comments today: I just finished a year-end awards piece for foxsports.com. Here at TennisReporters.net, we'll put up an awards poll and see what the rest of you think. Whoever agrees with me the most gets to blog in my spot for a day. How's that for a booby prize?
